Sports Premium Funding

PE and Sport Premium
The government is providing additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding is provided jointly by the Department for Education, Health and Culture and Media and Sport.
PE and Sport Premium funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
Purpose of funding
Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this. Bedfont received £20,070 in the 2025-26 school year.
Digital expenditure reporting return
From 2026, all primary schools need to complete the digital expenditure reporting return for the 2025 to 2026 academic year. The return outlines:
- how the school has used its PE and sport premium
- the impact the premium has had on achieving the aims and objectives of the funding
